I know Acclaim literally botched the attributes in NBA Jam Extreme they didn't even have the motion capture of players with good dribbling capabilities in the game with the dribbling attribute but one of the biggest issues was the size of the ball was too small when no one had possession of it, it would only changes size depending on the size of what play had possession of it

i couldn´t disagree more. Doom 3 was epic. I played doom 2016 and doom 3 is better, period.

Also, if you think the SNES port is bad, remember that the SNES port has higher framerate than the 3DO, despite being a 16-bit console and not designed to make 3D games in mind. Also, the 3DO port has other good changes compared to other versions of Doom, like in the Atari Jaguar port, there are spectres in the game, but due to a programmer oversight, the spectres look the same as pinkies, which is fixed in the 3DO port. The soundtrack is also killer, and there's a different death animation where the player's face gets turned into crimson meaty paste in the HUD. Also, we'll never get to hear Randy Scott's side of the story because after all that fiasco, he became a music teacher for kids. Eventually he got convicted for allegations about sexual interactions with minors, but on the bright side, he won't become a bother to anyone anymore, and think back to what he did wrong, that is if he has the humanity inside of him.

Interesting, sad we never got more than 4 games for the entire sega consoles family, if Im not mistaken, lucasarts didn't want games to be related too directly to the movies in this era of games, in rogue squadron, the developers had to go with the excuse that the empire attacked hoth again and so you had to grab speeder to take the AT-ATs down like in the movie. After episode 1 the phantom menace, lucasarts was more flexible with what appeared in the games

I think you made your point. Video games with procedural generation elements do have problems. We just have to find a way to fix them and make the difficulty and skill curves more balanced out. Not in such a way where it makes the game feel too easy, but in such a way that’s satisfying. There’s also the Steam Workshop we have to worry about. User generated content can also impact the RNG that goes into the procedural generation process of the levels, making them more unpredictable. Long story short, procedural generation clearly needs some fine tuning.

Rebecca is one of the greatest developers and gamers to exist. She is the first person to win a National Video game tournament (USA). Also, dont feel bad/sympathize with Randy. Just last year (2023) he was convicted for Child Molestation after opening up a music school.

that was a low blow on Acclaim's part. i get the feeling that Greg Fishbach was lying just to save his company's ass. and the way they handled the series is a reflection of their track record: while not everything they did was crap (Shadow Man and the Turok games on the N64 were pretty good), a lot of the stuff they did that were not Midway conversions was.

it's a shame, the 3DO has the definitive best port of Wolf3D (and I would argue possibly the best version of Wolfenstein 3D until modern source ports), only to get the definitively worst port of Doom.
